I learned the phrase "the days are long, but the years are short" from Gretchen Rubin. It's the best description of the passage of time I've ever encountered. I find myself repeating it to myself on days that feel especially long, tiring, or frustrating. Gretchen has a sweet one-minute video about how she discovered the truth of this sentence.
