Book + Chocolate = A Wonderful Thing
I picked up an advance copy of my book from the publisher. The nice thing about being in the same town as your publisher is when you pick up your copy of your book in person, it comes with chocolate. (Those dark chocolate sea salt caramels by Dove are very good, in case you were wondering!)
It still feels a little surreal to see my name on a book cover. I will probably pass out when I see it in book stores or at my local craft shops shelved among all the other books.
A Look Inside
I love the way the table of contents looks, showing my projects and those from a few of the ten designers (Andrew Thornton, Lorelei Eurto, Barb Switzer, Erin Prais-Hintz, Jamie Hogsett, Molly Schaller, Erin Siegel, Denise Yezbak Moore, Erin Strother, Cindy Wimmer). Everyone has such a unique design style. There are five different designers represented in those six photos on the table of contents and four different designers for those photos on the back cover.
While I love the projects, I'm also proud of the text sections at the beginning. Did you know that a single finding may be labeled under many different names? For example, a spring-ring clasp may also be called a bolt ring. If you've ever had trouble finding supplies because you couldn't figure out what a part was called, you're going to appreciate this section!
Interweave's offering a great package deal on the book right now. If you buy the ebook, you can get the print book when it comes out later this month, all for the same price of the print book alone. Thanks to everyone who has already purchased a copy! It means a lot to me to have such great support.
Blog Book Tour Starts September 15
The contributors and I will be sharing photos from the book September 15-19, 2014. Plus, I'll share some behind-the-scenes stories. Those who stop by and comment on the blogs will have a chance to win some great prizes. See you soon!
