I recently wrote a guest post for a new site, Museiddity. The site's focused on creativity, with craft projects, interviews with artists, and inspirational essays. I met the site's host, Robyn, online when she was looking for folks to participate in a book-related blog hop.
My post, titled "When You Can't Wait for Inspiration", offers tips for those days when you must create something, but nothing seems to be flowing. Maybe you have an upcoming craft show where you've already paid the booth fee, but don't have enough items to fill the booth. Or you've promised a friend that this would be the month that you would finally take the plunge and submit your work to a magazine. You don't want to sit behind an empty booth or admit to your friend that you chickened out again. The pressure's on! What do you do? Read the blog post.
Pictured here: I'm currently making a new series of stamped bookmarks. This poet bookmark is the first one. This shows you one of my but-i'm-not-feeling-inspired techniques: do something slightly different! In my case, I've been making quite a few stamped necklaces and earrings. I like making them, but I was feeling like I might be in a creative rut. I came across these tiny steel bookmarks that I purchased a few years ago and decided to use them up. While the stamping technique is the same, making bookmarks instead of jewelry has triggered some new designs.
