Yesterday I shared my Ice Cream Necklace that I created with one of the two pieces I won from Earthenwood Studio. This is my second necklace, created with a round porcelain link pendant.
The inspiration behind this necklace was the Lone Cypress Tree on the 17-Mile Drive in California. I bought a sterling silver pendant with a cypress tree from Fire Mountain Gems many years ago. (In fact, I think it might be one of the very first things I purchased.) I was delighted when I placed the pendant on top of the link to see that they were very close in size. I love the layered look for necklaces.
Once I discovered that I had these little ceramic rondelles from Michaels that were almost the same color as the pendant, the beaded chain necklace came together very quickly. Here it is:

Isn't it perfect for summer? Here's a close-up of the pendant:
Doesn't that little wave design on the porcelain link look just like the water?
To create a similar necklace, you could either wire wrap the pendant to the link or use jeweler's glue. You could simply layer the pendants on top of one another with jump rings and use the existing holes in the pendant and link, but then the waves will be more vertical than horizontal. Surf's up!
